Course Information

In 2017 we updated the 13er course to include Harper Lake and more soft surfaces and told us that YOU LOVED IT.  In 2018 we found even better ways to improve the 13er experience on the course and they made it SPECTACULAR!  The course is now even more picturesque and "runnable"!  You'll LOVE the elevation gain (or rather, lack thereof!) It features TEN passes of an aid station, FIVE restroom passes, and TWO loops which include NINE miles of soft surface and COUNTLESS opportunities for high fives and cheers!  Check out the maps and information below:

As you can see from the map links on this page, the 13er is a DOUBLE loop of all of the best stuff that Louisville, Colorado has to offer.  From the start line, you'll warm up nicely with an uphill mile to the mesa, passing an aid station along the way where you're welcome to drop a layer or grab a drink!  Once in the Mesa, you'll run counterclockwise as you head north to Harper Lake while passing an aid station.  The views to your west of the Front Range and Flatirons may just take your breath away, but the FLAT mesa won't be to blame!  From the Mesa, you'll safely cross UNDER the Boulevard to Harper Lake where you'll find a 'sanitation station' with restrooms.  You'll loop around the lake (it's about a mile loop) and pass those restrooms again before tucking under the street again and back to the Mesa.  You'll stay on the North side of the Mesa, passing two more aid stations on your way back to the Expo area.  You won't quite make it to the finish line before you turn around to complete your second loop, but you WILL pass by some more restrooms and the ENERGY of the spectators cheering you on!  As you head out for the second loop, you'll know just when to 'turn it on' and you'll be able to see the other racers MULTIPLE times on your journey!
